Dr. Edwards received her MS in 2006 and her PhD in 2010 in Educational Psychology, with a concentration in Research Methods and Statistics from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Lamar University, where she taught both undergraduate and graduate Educational Psychology courses. Her pedagogical experience includes teaching Introductory Educational Psychology, Assessment, Research Methods, Human Learning, Developmental Psychology, and Introductory Psychology at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her primary research interests include achievement goal orientation and student learning. Additionally, she has performed research in preservice teachers’ beliefs systems, undergraduate research experiences, argumentation, and online learning. Dr. Edwards has presented her research at regional, national, and international conferences and she has published her work in several peer reviewed journals including Instructional Science, Journal of Learning Sciences, Contemporary Educational Psychology, and British Journal of Educational Psychology.
